Your bank statement, sorted for tax season — automatically.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is already here — since April 2026, self-employed people and landlords earning over £50,000 must report to HMRC every quarter, not once a year. From April 2027, that drops to £30,000. Quilltax reads your bank statement and sorts every transaction into the right tax category for you — so you're not stuck doing it by hand, four times a year.
This is an early preview. No bank connection or payment required to join the waitlist.
What's changing
Making Tax Digital isn't a suggestion — if it applies to you, it's the law. Since April 2026, self-employed people and landlords earning over £50,000 must send updates to HMRC every quarter, not once a year — and from April 2027 that threshold drops to £30,000.
Most of the people this affects aren't accountants. They're plumbers, landlords, hairdressers, and small business owners who just want to get on with their work.
The tedious part is sorting a bank statement into tax categories by hand. It's slow, it's boring, and it's easy to get wrong — and mistakes with HMRC can cost you.

Notice the HMRC payment above? Quilltax flags anything genuinely ambiguous instead of guessing — like knowing a tax payment itself should never be counted as a business expense.
